Abstract

The oscillations generated by road are a risk factor for the driver’s body, but also discomfort at the same time. Identifying a optimal solutions to reduce them is always a concern for engineers, ergonomists, etc. The main objective of the research is to identify the optimal working level of the driver’s seat suspension when driving the vehicle on difficult roads. The research is done by virtually modeling the behavior of the seat suspension system with the AMESim program. The suspension system designed for the seat is analyzed using the technology and behavior of the magnetoreological damping systems. As a result, the optimum working parameters of the suspension are determined so that the driver’s comfort factor, when driving the vehicle on the difficult roads, is maintained at a level recommended by international standards. The use of virtual analyzes creates the premises for obtaining performance indices of the suspension system (seat). Through virtual modeling, we can observed the consistency of the theoretical analyzes with the practical applications. This provides an adequate design margin for the final system.
